Habanos Montecristo's Linea 1935 cigars for sale

Habanos S.A's Latest Release: Montecristo's Linea 1935

Habanos S.A. will be releasing the highly awaited Linea 1935 to stores worldwide in April. Eagerly anticipated since it was announced at last year’s 19th Habanos Festival, Montecristo's Linea 1935 has now been confirmed by Habanos S.A as having its official release date on the 16th of April.

The new line by the iconic brand presents three original vitolas and additional bands, which promise a full bodied flavour and a very new experience. We and many others believe it could just be the Montecristo ‘Behike’ line and is recognised as the most premium Habanos released by Montecristo yet. The Montecristo brand is predominantly known for its medium-full bodied flavour, therefore many smokers are intrigued by this latest release and cannot wait to get their hands on these fuller flavoured cigars.

Each of the three vitolas are to be sold in a beautiful box which holds 20 cigars. The deep, dark brown boxes with gold embossment share the same gorgeous, classic design as the Montecristo 80 Cigar box. The three vitolas in the Linea 1935 are:

  • Montecristo Linea 1935 Dumas (130mm x 49)
  • Montecristo Linea 1935 Maltés (152mm x 53)
  • Montecristo Linea 1935 Leyenda (165mm x 55)

The premium Cuban Cigars in this latest line have been made entirely by hand using long filler, while the filler and binder leaves have then been hand picked from the fields in Vuetla Abajo; the region which is known for having the world’s best tobacco leaves.

The Linea 1935 takes its name from the year that Montecristo Cigars produced and released their very first cigars, and much like the brand’s name and other vitolas in its collection, Dumas and Maltés take their names from the writer Alexandre Dumas and his novel, ‘The Count of Montecristo’. Leyenda on the other hand is Spanish for Legend. It’s obvious to see that the brand’s testimony is to say that their cigars are classic and legendary, just as the novel and its author are. The novel was written and released in 1844 and since then has received critical acclaim and admiration across the ages, much like Montecristo Cigars, which has too proven to be very popular amongst the masses and an excellent competitor to other much loved brands, like Cohiba Cuban Cigars and Romeo y Julieta Cuban Cigars. At this year's 20th Habanos Festival: Day 5, we sampled the Leyenda and can confirm that if the others are anything like that one then it's going to be an extremely admired extension to the Montecristo marca.

Each new vitola features three bands, the original branded band, as well as The Linea 1935 band and then the newest addition, the band with the marca, which proudly sits at the foot of the cigar. Though some cigar enthusiasts and aficionados have criticised the third foot band, others, including us, believe that a band should not detract from the fact that Montecristo has been releasing some of the Best Cuban Cigars and that any box of these vitolas would be a very much welcomed addition to our collection and so should it be yours.
